Fun Sunday with the Kids

I never really imagined I would be involving in the children ministry today. Hindi talaga. Haha. It’s not that I am afraid of the little kids. I am just in doubt if I could “control” them and make them behave. Lahat naman tayo ayaw ng batang umiiyak or nagta-tantrums. And maybe that was my worry nung na-assign ako ni Pastor Rey sa mga bata kahit isang Sunday lang. So, let’s see how my day went with the kids. :)
Gel's reminder.
I was assigned two weeks before to prepare for this ministry. What we do in here is we provide the children a separate place and separate activities while the congregation’s assembly is going on. This is to prevent unnecessary noise from them and also, people would focus on the message of God given by our pastor. Mahirap, I should say, na magbantay ng bata kasi it would really require one lots of doses of patience and love. But God lead me here. Yung ministry na sobrang iniiwasan ko talaga. Haha.
My visual aid for the kids. :D "Noah's Ark" Can also be downloaded here.

These are the materials that I really gave effort the night before Sunday. Ako yung tipong ng tao na basta mags-speak, mag-pe-prepare talaga. And God gave me this vision to have a story telling session with the kids. And He also have me envisioned na I should have visual aids para makuha ko yung attention ng mga bata. Children loves colourful images. So, I printed and colored it and pasted them on my sketch pad. And as I tell them the story, ililipat ko lang yung page ng pad. The story that I told them is all about Noah’s Ark with the reflection of God’s promises.

These are the images that the children will be coloring after our story telling session. After kasi ng word na i-si-share, dapat may pa-activities ka din. And aside from a song that I will be teaching them, magkukulay kami. :) Can also be downloaded here.
The kids. With Kuya Timothy. :D
I never thought this would be this enjoying. :) Ka-partner ko sa ministry si kuya Tim, our pastor’s kid and I believe our youth pastor. :) But he is more on sa taga-saway and taga-bantay ng mga bata. Siya rin yung naglead ng aming praise and worship. :) Sobrang nakaka-enjoy and habang nagkukwento ako sa mga bata, I really thank God kasi nag-pa-participate sila.

And eto na yung mga bata habang nagkukulay sila. They are so cute and adorable! Teaching them isn’t that difficult. :) We just have to enjoy the moment and makipaglaro lang sa kanila. :)

 This is Lance. :)

And baby Jaycee. She is so adorable. :)

And these are some of the beautiful artworks of the kids. :D I’m so proud of them!

I once envisioned myself speaking in front of a huge congregation about God’s goodness and love. And that is still my dream hanggang ngayon. I believe darating yung araw na yun. Dahil, God is training me to speak sa iba’t-ibang klase ng audiences. And ngayong araw nga ay ang mga bata. As I was searching kung anong topic ang ibibigay ko sakanila, I was wondering kung papano ba nagagawa ng Panginoon na mangusap sa mga bata that even small children love being around and listening to Him.
"Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." (Matthew 19:14)
The secret maybe is for us to really maintain that childlike heart of ours. Dahil kapag ganoon, we could relate sa mga bata, in a positive way. We can also touch their hearts. We can get to reach their level of understanding and realize that children are really special kaya mahal na mahal sila ng Panginoon.
"Then he said, "I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven." (Matthew 18:3)
Me with Lance.
This day is truly amazing. Thank You God for allowing me to serve in the children ministry. :)
