Victorious Sunday

I know it's late. This post is supposed to be posted last Sunday, October 4, 2014. Pero, better late than never I guess. Haha. Usually puno ang buong Sunday ko. But I can say that it is a day full of spiritual upliftments (if there is such a word as that), and bonding with our whole spiritual family. :) They said Sunday is for God. But I believe it shouldn't only be Sunday that we should dedicate to Him. It should be the every day of our lives. :) But Sundays are special, yes I agree. :) So, here it goes. :D
Jof with his powerful testimony.
Sunday celebrations are incomplete without testimonies of people whose lives are changed, who received great blessings, and who experienced miracles beyond explanations. These are all because of God, of course. At ngayong Linggo, we have Jof who is brave enough to boast about God's doings in his ministry. Surely Jof is not ashamed of the gospel dahil sa tulong ng Panginoon, ma-co-conquer na niya ang campus. :) Hats off talaga ako sa bawat estudyanteng matapang na ipinakikilala ang Panginoon sa bawat kabataan. I can say na ang school talaga ang pinaka dapat pag-ministeryuhan for it is in the school where we are producing our country's future leaders. And importante na nakilala nila ang Panginoon para mabawasan or mawala na ng tuluyan ang mga corrupt and irresponsible leaders that we have.

Pastor Rey with God's message of Victory
Naniniwala ka bang ipinanganak ka para maging victorious? :) Of course! Anak ka ng Diyos. :D Sa buhay natin ngayon na maya't-maya ang bad vibes or maraming problema ang dumarating, we can't avoid but be depressed and sad and negative thoughts would come in. But it is an attitude and it is a choice to stand up for your happiness. It will always be our choice na ipamuhay ang kaligayahan na mula sa Panginoon. Smile by faith, as they've said. So how can we turn defeat into victory? This sermon is based on 1 Chronicles 19: 1-17.
  1. We always start with what is good. (1 Chornicles 19:1-2)
We cannot start genuine victory if we would not start it with good. Genuine victory kasi merong victories na nakamit by the wrong way. Either may taong nasaktan or natapakan in the process and for me, it would not be considered true victory. So start with what is good. Start our day with our personal devotions or a Word from God coming from the Bible. And in every bad thing that happens to us, always see the positive side. Meron at meron yan. It takes heart to look at positive things amidst the negative. Pero meron yan. Promise. :)

    2. Our good might be recognized as evil.  (1 Chronicles 19:3-4)

People might misinterpret our doings as wrong kahit na mabuti naman sila. We can't please everybody but as long as we are pleasing God, there is nothing to worry about. :) So we should befriend them and win them to God. And kahit mapahiya man tayo upon standing up for God, we should rejoice because we are blessed. Even Jesus was humiliated kahit noong nasa cross na Siya. And remember to always speak of God's Words and not our own.

    3. Our initial reaction is critical. (1 Chronicles 19:5)

Mahirap ang initial reaction kapag bumugso ang damdamin. So bago pa man ang lahat, agapan na natin ng prayers. :) Pray that God help us into taming our tongues and taming our emotions.

   4. We fight according to God's strategy. (Ephesians 6:10-17)

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God,so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

The awarding of Certificates of the recent Encounter God Retreat.
Certificate of Completion
One of the highlights of Sunday's celebration is the awarding of the Certificates of Completion of the recent Encounter God Retreat. Above is the certificate of my delagate, Angelita. :) Victorious talaga! :D

The Lord's Supper
But the highlights of all the highlights is the Lord's Supper. We are conducting this every first Sunday of the month. With the bread and wine, we remember the Last Supper held by Jesus before He was crucified.

One Verse Evangelism Training. Photo courtesy of Kuya Andy.
Next comes our One Verse Evangelism training. Sa pangunguna ni Pastora Nette, natutunan naming lahat ang tamang pag-e-evangelize. :) Using of course Romans 6:23. And in application, mag-o-one verse ang mga bagong nag EGR and ang mga kunwaring new Christians are the Leaders of the Chruch. On the topmost left picture, we can see James, practicing the One Verse Evangelism with his cell leader, Anthony. :)

Meriam, Ate Lenny, Ate Mai, Me, and Ate Love
And the day ended with Kuya Andy's Jollibee/ Despedida treat. :) We'll miss kuya Andy as he goes back somewhere in the middle of Asia.

That was it! :D Ngiting tagumpay! :D Always remember, you are victorious because you are a child of God! :D God bless!
